Back in July 2016,classic xxx movies - watch full movies for free in an attempt to distract myself from the horrible fact that Game of Throneswas over for another year, I made a set of nine predictions about what might happen in Season 7.
Now that the past ten Game of Thrones-free months are finally over, though, it's time to revisit things. We have a bunch of new promo images, a couple of teasers, and -- most importantly -- Wednesday's trailer, all of which means there's more evidence to sift through.
SEE ALSO: A full breakdown of that battle map in the 'Game of Thrones' Season 7 trailerAfter watching the trailer a worrying number of times and poring over theories on Reddit, here are some of the things I think will happen in Season 7...
The last time we saw Dany she was leading her fairly intimidating fleet across the ocean towards Westeros; now that the Season 7 trailer is out, we have a fairly good idea of what her next moves will be.
Throughout the trailer, there are several shots of the Unsullied fighting Lannisters in a castle of some sort:
Judging from the red and gold decor, they're not fighting in King's Landing -- the battle is taking place in the Lannisters' heartland, in either Lannisport or Casterly Rock.
If we're assuming Daenerys will also have to contend with Euron Greyjoy, Lannisport would be a good tactical choice -- taking it would cut off Lannister supply lines, and give Dany a base from which to attack the Iron Islands.
That gif higher up shows Tyrion knocking over a little lion statue on a map of Westeros. It makes sense for him to be on hand for the Unsullied invasion of Lannisport/Casterly Rock -- he knows the land better than anyone, after all.
And wouldn't his father's former castle make the perfect gift once he's helped the future ruler of Westeros knock out a key Lannister outpost?
Having spent months trying to convince his former master not to keep randomly burning people, Davos is pretty good at the whole talking sense thing. He knows how to pacify people, and he knows how to give advice.
We don't know exactly who he's speaking to in the clip above -- it could be Jon Snow; it could even be Daenerys -- but we wouldn't be surprised if he's instrumental in forging an alliance between the North and the Targaryens.
At the end of Season 6 the signs were pointing to a future rift between Jon Snow and Sansa. In my opinion, the trailer for Season 7 makes this rift look more likely than ever.
Littlefinger will be the catalyst for this. A shot of people cheering for Jon Snow in the trailer is immediately followed by a shot of Petyr Baelish attempting to manipulate Sansa, stoking the fires of sibling jealousy with the same lines he was feeding her back in Season 6.
Judging by the following moment, he's also trying to manipulate Jon -- we don't know exactly how, but he's clearly managed to get under the Lord Commander's skin to some extent.
Via GiphyLittlefinger's smart, and his aim seems clear -- he wants Jon Snow out of the way, and he wants to rule alongside Sansa. But if he underestimates either of them his latest play could also be his undoing.
After watching the trailer a few times I'm not sure if that background noise during the scene above is growling or just part of the music. Even if it's only the latter, though, it might not be there by accident.
Arya was last seen in the Riverlands casually dispatching Walder Frey at the end of Season 6. Her missing wolf, meanwhile, was also last seen in the Riverlands way back in Season 1. It seems likely that the two are due for a reunion early on in Season 7.
Although it's snowy in the shot above, I'm not convinced Arya is necessarily heading North -- it could just be that winter is reaching further south, after all.
Also, if Arya's main priority was re-uniting with her family, surely she would have done that when she first arrived back in Westeros? The fact that her first port of call was Walder Frey suggests that finding her fellow Starks isn't top of her list -- her listis.
That being said, it seems unfeasible that she'll go a whole Season in Westeros without meeting Sansa, Bran, or Jon. If we had to guess we'd say she'll prowl around on her own for while in a possible attempt to get close to Cersei, then eventually bump into her family towards the end of Season 7.
Okay, so last July I definitely predicted that Cleganebowl (the much-longed for fight between the Hound the Mountain) wouldhappen -- but back then I was caught up in the hype, and I now think it might just have been wishful thinking on my part.
The last time we saw the Hound he was heading North, and from the looks of the trailer the Mountain will be staying firmly put in King's Landing alongside Cersei.
If I had to guess, I'd say the Mountain willdie for good this Season -- but it'll happen on the battlefield, possibly at the mouth of a dragon.
Let's be honest about this: The chances of Cersei making it through the next season unscathed are pretty much slim-to-none. She's surrounded by people who want her dead, she now basically has nothing to lose (and nothing to stop her from acting recklessly), and -- most importantly -- she has exactly three less dragons than Daenerys. She's been lucky to survive this long, to be honest.
I think she'll make it until near the end of the season (and her sheer unpleasantness will mean she puts up a surprisingly good fight), but in the end her death seems inevitable.
Just look at Jaime Lannister's face in this shot. He knowshe's on the losing side, and he knows exactly how much of a maniac his sister is. At some point in Season 7 -- probably towards the end, when she knows she's losing and she's desperate -- Cersei will do something horrendous. Maybe she'll go one step further than she did last Season and try and set the whole of King's Landing on fire.
When she does, though, I think Jaime and his golden hand will be there to stop her. Once and for all.
