Samsung appears to be The Farmer’s Bride Requires Care! Part 2: The Organic Grand Strategydeveloping the world's first 5G tablet. The Galaxy Tab S6, according to SamMobile, will undergo some tweaks in order to offer compatibility with next-generation wireless networks. Rather than an insider obtaining the information, Samsung accidentally published a listing for the 'Galaxy Tab S6 5G' on its website. The listing is light on details, but it at least confirms what the South Korean company has in the pipeline.
Known by model number SM-T866, the Galaxy Tab S6 5G surfaced on Samsung's website with a generic "coming soon" label. Its shown alongside Samsung's regular Galaxy Tab S6, the Galaxy Tab S5e, Galaxy Tab A, and Galaxy Tab A with S Pen. All of them are currently available; however, the Galaxy Tab S6 5G still needs to be announced.
Specifications for this model are unclear, but its entire layout should align with what's offered by the existing Galaxy Tab S6. It features a 10.5-inch (2560x1600) Super AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 855, up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, a 7040mAh battery, and Android 9.0 Pie with Samsung's One UI. Little-to-no changes are expected since Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 supports 5G connectivity.
Pricing has been left out of the listing, too. Samsung will charge a premium for the 5G-ready unit, that's for sure. It released versions of the Galaxy S10 and the Galaxy Note 10+ with 5G connectivity, and both are much more expensive than their regular counterparts.
CES 2020 could serve as the location for the Galaxy Tab S6 5G's global debut, but it wouldn't be surprising if Samsung held off on introducing the tablet until a later date. We'll just need to wait and see what Samsung decides. It shouldn't take too long for the Galaxy Tab S6 5G to arrive in South Korea and some other parts of the world.
