UPDATE July 5,I Would Rather Kill You 2017 3:20 p.m. PT: This story has been updated to reflect Ed Sheeran's comments that he hasn't quit Twitter, but he has taken a break of sorts, refusing to read tweets.
If you're wondering why Ed Sheeran isn't particularly active on Twitter -- the majority of his recent posts have been links to Instagram, and he doesn't post a whole lot else -- there's a reason for that.
From the sounds of it, Sheeran is fed up with the little blue bird altogether.
SEE ALSO: Twitter responds to Ed Sheeran's new music with a glorious meme fest"I've actually come off Twitter completely," he told The Sunin a recent interview published Monday. "I can't read it.
"I go on it and there's nothing but people saying mean things. Twitter's a platform for that."
Sheeran went on to say that "one comment ruins your day."
Sheeran reeled his comments back in on Wednesday, however, saying that he hasn't actually quit Twitter, but rather just isn't reading it right now. He's more into Harry Potter at the moment, he wrote on Instagram.
To be honest, this news isn't necessarily all that surprising. Despite the fact he's tweeted over 32,000 times, Sheeran has never felt like a massive social media fan.
He said in his recent Carpool Karaoke that he doesn't actually own a mobile phone, for instance, and he's previously had a year's hiatus from social media altogether.

He came back last December in the run-up to his latest album, but over the past few weeks most of his activity has been on Instagram.
One of the few times he's directly addressed Twitter was to respond to people criticising his Glastonbury performance.
This Tweet is currently unavailable. It might be loading or has been removed.
As an example, Sheeran said he's recently been targeted by Lady Gaga fans.
"Lady Gaga's fanbase read an interview in which they assumed I was talking about her and they all fucking hate," he said.
"So I think Twitter gets on a massive steam roll of assuming things and then you get in the shit."
Oh dear.
