If we had to describe Apple's iPhone 12 Pro Max in one word, liminal eroticism it would be bigger. Not only is the 12 Pro Max's 6.7-inch display bigger than on any other iPhone ever, but nearly everything about this device trumps other iPhones in size.
We know that because iFixit has torn down the iPhone 12 Pro Max to little pieces — or, in this case, not so little pieces.
For example, the iPhone 12 Pro Max has a massive, L-shaped battery with a 14.13 Wh capacity, far bigger than the iPhone 12 Pro's 10.78 Wh battery. It also has a 47 percent larger main camera sensor than the iPhone 12 Pro, allowing it to capture more light. And if the camera bump on the iPhone 11 Pro Max was annoying, perhaps you should take a closer look at the 12 Pro Max before buying, as it has an even bigger camera bump.
Other notable tidbits include the new, sensor-shift image stabilization, the modular SIM card reader, and the surprisingly compact logic board (smaller than the one on the iPhone 12 mini). Guess not everything about this phone is bigger, after all.
SEE ALSO: Unboxing the iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12 Pro MaxAll in all, the iPhone 12 Pro Max is, in iFixit's opinion, just as hard (or easy) to repair as other new iPhones, with a repairability score of 6 (out of 10). The display and the battery are fairly accessible for replacement, but the glass back means the entire case will have to be replaced if it breaks, which isn't ideal.
