Pixar-loving art collectors might want to set aside some time on Japan Movies | Adult Movies OnlineFriday, Dec. 6.
That's when Austin's Mondo Gallery is set to kick off "Spirit of Adventure: A Pixar Poster Show." It's a celebration of all things Pixar, with a bunch of new, limited-edition prints from nine different artists capturing the Disney studio's work through the years.
We're pleased to be able to share with you a first look at two of those posters, one each for Toy Story and Monsters, Inc. The posters, like the others making up "Spirit of Adventure," will be sold at Mondo's Austin, Texas, gallery through the end of the show on Dec. 8. Sometime after that — it's not clear when, but watch the gallery's Twitter feed for updates — any remaining posters will be available from Mondo's online store until they're all gone.
This 36" x 24" Toy Storyposter ($60) comes from Phantom City Creative, a Toronto-based studio that specializes in all manner of geek-friendly art. (You can see some more of their work here.)
Phantom City has collaborated with Mondo a number of times in the past, so longtime fans of the gallery might already be familiar. This Jurassic Parkone is a personal favorite.
The Monsters, Inc.poster below comes from another sometime Mondo contributor, Sara Deck. Where the Toy Storyposter strikes the pose of a traditionally styled movie poster, this next one is more about capturing a vibe.
Deck is also a Canadian artist, based in Ontario. She's worked with a number of names you know in addition to Mondo, including Marvel, Fox, Amazon Studios, AMC, and even Fangoria(a true classic). You can check out more of her impressive work right here.
The gallery opening is mainly for Austin residents and those who will be in or near the Texas city through the weekend ending Dec. 8. But if history is any indication, any remaining unsold posters should pop up online shortly thereafter, so stay tuned.
