Hinge touts that they are erotice modelsthe dating app "designed to be deleted," and now they want you to take it to the next level: by getting off your phone entirely.
For 2020's National Day of Unplugging on March 6, the dating app will actually pay users $100 to get off their phone — but there are a few caveats.
The first, and perhaps the most difficult, step in securing the bag (aka a gift card) is setting up a Hinge date. Once you've found your potential suitor, pause Hinge for 24 hours, beginning on March 6 at the very specific time of 4:00 PM ET.
After your magical date, fill out the form at unplugwithhinge.com as well as the "We Met" survey confirming your March 6 meetup. Once Hinge verifies the form and survey, you'll receive $100 gift card via email.
Via GiphyAccording to Hinge CMO Nathan Roth, connecting on the app is only the beginning of a connection. "The real magic happens in person and in real life," he said in a press release. "We’ll never stop encouraging our users to meet up, and this Friday, we’re excited to give them a little extra incentive to set up a date and put Hinge away."
The deal, while sweet, is first come first serve. Hinge will pay up to $25,000 to get their users unplugged, meaning up to 2,500 people can claim $100.
But who knows? You may end up getting more than $100 out of it.
