Grubhub and nabokov eroticism speak memorySeamless are selling gift cards now, so you can help your friends feel less guilty about ordering takeout.
Grubhub and Seamless, which are part of the same company, launched their gift cards on Thursday. The gift cards are only available online, not in actual stores like Uber's gift card effort.
Customers can either choose to send gift cards via email on a specific date or print them at home to give as gifts. The recipient has to enter a code to redeem the card at checkout.
Customers can choose custom images and messages to match the purpose of the gift.
This is the first time either service has sold gift cards, a spokesman said. Though the companies are referring to the offerings as gift cards, they're more like gift certificates since you have to print them at home to get a physical version.
The two platforms join Uber and Lyft, which both introduced gift cards sold in stores this year. The ride-hailing and food delivery services are proving that people still want old-fashioned gift cards, even when they're using new services.
Grubhub and Seamless gift cards start at $10 and go up to $1,000.
